Twitter Removed Names, URL, Images from Character Count

Twitter no longer counts images, URLs and names in its character limit. 

Considering tweets with images increase engagement by 313%, it is vital to include multiple types of media in a post, including both an image and a URL.

Twitter's CEO Jack Dorsey announced that, after observing many users sharing screenshots with longer text, Twitter would rethink the rules and character limit. 

Another update allows tweets with usernames to appear in followers feeds without using a period before the name.
